At Durrants Holiday Cottages we have been very busy following the latest Government guidance and collating all the information relevant to our industry to ensure that we are ready to welcome you back to Southwold and the surrounding area.
Rest assured, if you cannot go on holiday because:-
◊ There are UK Government travel restrictions in place due to the Coronavirus pandemic which means you are unable to travel when you book your holiday with us
OR
◊ We have a local lockdown in place which means you cannot visit us due to the Coronavirus pandemic
You are able to choose from the following options:
• Transfer your holiday dates to new dates in 2021 with no additional fees.
• Receive a credit voucher for the value of your holiday for you to use against the same cottage before the end of 2021 (if your booked property is no longer letting with us you can choose an alternative cottage).
• Receive a full refund (by bank transfer).
We are committed to keeping you as safe as possible
We want you to have peace of mind when holidaying Durrants Holiday Cottages. Whilst we cannot guarantee that properties are coronavirus free, you can expect that all our properties will be cleaned to a very high standard and will be lower in risk of catching the virus than visiting a supermarket for example. We have issued brand new cleaning guidelines to our housekeepers and cottage owners to help reduce any risks to you when staying in one of our holiday cottages.
Our new guidance includes additional time for housekeepers to undertake cleans. This allows more time between tenants thus reducing the risk of transmission, and our housekeepers are fully equipped with full PPE when servicing properties. These changes do mean therefore that your arrival and departure times have been adjusted slightly to allow the additional time for cleaning. These are now from 4.00pm on the start date of your holiday and departing by 9.30am on your departure date and we thank you for your understanding with this.
Extra cleaning supplies will be available to you to use within the cottage such as hand sanitiser and dis-infectant. We recommend bringing further supplies with you when going out and about.
We have also removed any non-essential items within our cottages which frequently come into contact with guests such as board games, books and decorative items, and you may wish to bring your own from home to enhance your stay.
We are compliant with the NHS Track and Trace System
We are really pleased to be compliant with the NHS Track and Trace System rolled out by the Government. We are asking all our guests to download the NHS Covid-19 app to an electronic device prior to your arrival. Once you have arrived at your holiday cottage you will see a prominently displayed QR code within your cottage which we will ask you to scan with your electronic device. This way, you will be notified through the app should you come into contact with anyone who has tested positive for Coronavirus. Should you not possess an electronic device don’t worry – we will ask you upon arrival you provide us with your guest’s names and telephone numbers. This information will be destroyed 14 days after your departure should you not come into contact with the virus.
Further information on this new system will be included in our handy Covid-19 guidelines document which is sent to you once your balance has been paid in full and a few weeks prior to your holiday start date (see below).
What else do you need to know?
We’ll be sending you some handy guidelines on how you can help lower risks of transmission of Covid-19 when on holiday with us plus further information on the NHS Covid-19 app. Don’t panic – there’s nothing within our guidelines to worry about as many of the suggestions we are making you will have already been practising at home.
We will also be including a handy Southwold visitors guide on new practices in place within the town which we hope you will find useful.
Please do remember to bring a face covering with you as face coverings are mandatory when visiting shops or indoor areas. If you need to purchase one when on holiday with us we have seen face masks for sale in Sea Salt, High Tide and both our High Street chemists however please be aware stock may be limited due to demand. If you need any assistance at all just give our team a call on 01502 723292.
