Everlasting Wreath Workshop at Southwold Flower Company
When: 26th October 2024
Visit the charming flower farm in Reydon, on the edge of Southwold, to participate in an everlasting wreath workshop. The workshop uses dried flowers grown and harvested right on the farm. You’ll learn the skills to wire these delicate blooms into a straw ring, creating a cherished keepsake to take home. Booking is essential.
Halloween Half Term at Framlingham Castle
When: 26th October – 3rd November 2024
This October half-term, bring your children to Framlingham Castle for a spooktacular day of 17th century-inspired fun. Twilight Night Halloween Extravaganza at Carlton Marshes Carlton Colville

Spend an enchanting evening at Carlton Marshes Nature Reserve, exploring a world of nocturnal wonder. Engage in activities such as lantern-making, bat detection, campfire activities, stargazing, moth trapping and owl pellet dissection. A wonderful event for the whole family to enjoy, don’t forget to bring along an empty jar to make your lantern.
Open Afternoon at Steamworks Southwold
When: 27th October 2024
The Southwold Railway was a 3-foot narrow gauge line that connected Southwold to Halesworth. Opened in 1879, it gently meandered through the River Blyth valley, with stops at Wenhaston, Blythburgh, and Walberswick. After nearly 50 years of service, the line abruptly closed in April 1929. The Southwold Railway Trust is now dedicated to preserving the memory of this special little railway and, if possible, reopening portions of the original route.
