5 Reasons to take a holiday in September

With the last of the summer crowds dispersing and a new season on the horizon, September is a fantastic time of year to recharge your batteries before the temperatures drop.

We’ve highlighted below five reasons why holidaying in Southwold and the surrounding area in September is an ideal time of year to choose.

1) Glorious weather

The weather in Southwold can be surprisingly warm in September so don’t be tempted to pack away sun hats and swimsuits just yet! Cool mornings are usually followed by bright blue skies filled with sunshine. With the gradual change of colour of the leaves on the trees, it’s a great time of year to enjoy the great outdoors.

2) Less Crowds

The Suffolk coast is a truly special destination, so you may want to make a shortlist of all the places you want to visit when staying here. In September the streets are quieter so it’s easier to get out and about at your leisure.

3) Great prices

Holidays in September are generally cheaper than those taken in peak season such as in the six weeks of summer or over the Christmas holidays. Whilst the prices may be lower you can still expect the same number of facilities on offer within Southwold and the surrounding area.

4) Shorter stays

Unlike various peak times, shorter stays are generally available in September. So if you simply need a few days away from your everyday routine or are wanting to celebrate a big occasion with family, September is a fantastic time of year to consider.

5) More choice

With the area being quieter than the summer season, you’ll find there’s a wider range of cottage choice in which to choose from. From traditional cottages for two to modern seaside apartments, Durrants Holiday Cottages offer a range of cottages to suit all desires and tastes.

And that’s not all! We’ve recently recruited some lovely new Southwold holiday cottages which have plenty of September availability. From Corner Cottage, a romantic cottage in a fantastic location just a stone’s throw from Southwold’s glorious Common to Sea Mist – a dog-friendly holiday home ideal for families of 5.
