Sitting proudly in the northernmost part of The Suffolk Coast is Lowestoft. Famous for being the most easterly town in England and the first place to see the sunrise in the UK, it's also the birthplace of composer Benjamin Britten.
Traeth House can be found on a quiet tree lined road on the outskirts of the popular seaside town of Lowestoft. Just a 10 minute walk to the south beach with The Promenade and beach huts, you will also find the Victorian Kensington gardens with its four tennis courts and two bowling greens, a model boating lake and cafe. A gentle walk along the Promenade will bring you to The Thatch where you can sit and enjoy a meal or coffee and cakes at any time of the day. Further down the beach you will find the Claremont Pier with its traditional amusement arcade and cafe. The Marina theatre offers a variety of shows throughout the year. If you love riding or want to try it out, Pakefield Riding School is close by or if you wish you can hire a boat for the hour or day from Oulton Broad. This is the broad’s southern gateway where the River Waveney meets the sea. The town itself is complete with both well-known and individual shops for you to visit if the mood takes you. Lowestoft is a great base to explore the tourist attractions close by such as Africa Alive at Kessingland or Pleasurewood Hills Theme Park just 15 minutes away by car. During the summer months there is powerboat racing on the broad on a Thursday evening. If you like to run the owners have left routes in the house for you to explore. Hotel Victoria is close by and so is The Hog Hotel if you prefer not to cook.
