Thalassa is a very special holiday home. Situated in the heart of Walberswick, just a few short steps from The Anchor, this 4-bedroom terraced home offers space and comfort throughout. The owners have cleverly blended rich coastal colours and cool tones, with rich furnishings and an eclectic mix of furniture to create homely and inviting accommodation for up to 8 guests.

Downstairs there’s a wonderful lounge/dining room with large bay window overlooking the garden, deep sofas, open fireplace and smart TV. The dining area has ample space for everyone to come together for evening meals and games. The kitchen is very much the heart of this home, in fact, the owner’s family memories are captured in the photos in the gallery that surrounds the breakfast area. There’s also a shower room with WC on the ground floor.

Upstairs are three large bedrooms each with built in wardrobes and dressers with drawers. The master bedroom, with views to the front of the house, is bright and airy and boasts a heavenly super-king bed and en suite WC and sink. Equally comfortable are the double room and the super-king/twin bedroom to the back of the house. The family bathroom is also on the first floor and has a bath with shower above it, WC and basin.

The fourth bedroom is on the second floor in the eaves and has two single beds. This spacious room with Velux windows comes with a telescope so guests can enjoy some star-gazing during their stay.

There’s plenty to boast about outside Thalassa too. The fully-enclosed front garden which is mostly laid to lawn with a small patio and table and chairs is the perfect place to enjoy a chilled glass of something delicious or maybe afternoon tea, whilst to the rear is a ‘secret’ garden that offers a peaceful haven and a more private setting for morning coffee or an evening BBQ. There’s a wonderful summer house with cane furniture suite – the perfect getaway for teens during their stay or those in need of a bit of time to themselves. There’s also private parking for two cars, plus an outhouse where there are two bikes for guests to use.

  • Lovely house in a beautiful village - great walks and pubs nearby and walking distance to the much busier Southwold. Comfortable beds, plenty of hot water and great location were the highlights.

    Would definitely recommend.

  • We loved our stay at Thalassa - a beautiful house in a perfect location, made even more perfect for us by the fact that our nephew was getting married at Blythburgh church and everything surrounding the wedding was happening at The Anchor, directly across the street! Thalassa is brilliantly equipped in every way...clean, warm and inviting, with very comfortable beds (always important). Thank you!

  • We had a wonderful Christmas family gathering. The welcome was very warm with tasteful festive decorations, Christmas tree and a bottle of champagne. The house worked well for us with a shower room & toilet on ground floor, a family bathroom on 1st floor and a toilet and basin in the 1st floor en-suite bedroom. The bedrooms were well appointed with the master having a distant sea view. There is a beautiful private garden at the rear and parking for 2 cars. More cars could park next to the small Co-Op up the road. The Anchor pub (opposite) was excellent and didn’t get the chance to try the Bell at the other end of the village. The open fireplace was a luxury we made the most of. Walberswick is lovely and the house was a few minutes from the beach. Would recommend a stay.

  • I almost don't want people to know about Walberswick, it is such a special place. I go every year to get an infusion of big skies, beautiful village houses, great pub, crabbing with the grandchildren, then over the river for lobster and chips in the sheds. It is heaven. I didn't think I could afford to celebrate my birthday with the children but we found this house with room for 8 people and it was not inexpensive but for me, reasonable. We absolutely loved the house and the garden at the front is surprisingly private. It even had a barbecue for my birthday lunch. Recommend this place, just please don't tell too many people about it!
