Only a short drive from the popular seaside town of Southwold, Sparrows is a tastefully furnished and much-loved holiday cottage for a family or group of friends. This cottage is located in the village of Wangford which is just three miles from Southwold and ten miles from the market town of Beccles.

Sparrows has a cosy open plan reception room where guests can enjoy quiet time in front of the television, enjoy dining with one another around the dining table and cook up a feast in the kitchen area. For those wanting to dine out there are two popular restaurants close by to choose from – The Angel Inn is just a short walk away or The Plough Inn can be found further along the A12 and around a fifteen minute walk down a country lane.

This pet-friendly cottage has three cosy bedrooms for guests and two bathrooms. The twin bedroom is located on the ground floor and has zip and link beds which can be pushed together if desired. The master bedroom on the first floor benefits from having its own En-Suite shower. The garden is a great spot to enjoy some al-fresco dining and catching a few sun rays – and your four-legged friends can enjoy being outdoors with you.

What we love about this property
We love the open plan layout of the ground floor and the doors from the sitting area allow guests to bring the outdoors in, extended the amount of room available on a warm summers day.

Accommodation

GROUND FLOOR
Open Plan Room with Sitting Area: Large TV, DVD player, Wi-Fi, Hi-Fi with mini-jack connector for iPods etc., door to garden. Dining Area: Dining table and chairs. Kitchen Area: Electric oven and hob, fridge freezer, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine.
Bedroom 2: Zip-and-link twin beds, TV, access to rear garden (please note that when the beds are pushed together the duvets are single continental quilts).
Cloakroom: Washbasin and WC.
Garden: Small south-east facing and fully enclosed rear garden laid to lawn with a patio area and garden furniture.

FIRST FLOOR
Master Bedroom: Spacious room with double bed, with wardrobe, dressing table and En-Suite Shower Room with shower cubicle, washbasin and WC.
Bedroom 3: Single bed.
Bathroom: Bath with over-bath shower, washbasin and WC.

Need to know
All bed linen and towels are provided.
There is space for a travel cot in all bedrooms.
Two small well-behaved dogs are welcome or one large dog welcome.
The property has gas central heating.
There is one allocated parking space at the rear of the property on Elms Lane. Plus roadside parking is available for one car at the front of the cottage.

  • Quiet, comfortable cottage. Southwold gets very busy, and check the tides as there's not a lot of beach left sometimes on North Beach. Sutton Hoo worth a visit, with it's new exhibition building. Great family day out at Jimmy's farm.

It has afforded us a lovely tranquil holiday, which we both needed. Sparrows is a lovely place to stay, warm comfortable and welcoming, with everything we needed.

  • We've had a wonderful week in Suffolk, and Sparrows has been the perfect house to stay in and explore the area. We've been to Southwold many times, but have actually loved the peace and quiet of the village location. The house is spacious and well equipped, and it was lovely to eat outdoors some evenings.

  • We love this part of the world and have holidayed in Southwold & Walberswick many times. This is the first time we've stayed in Wangford and we've had a wonderful week. We really appreciated the clean and well equipped accommodation - 3 toilets in a holiday cottage is above par!!! A great spot for running, lots of quiet routes for a pre-breakfast run!! We love crabbing in Walberswick, lazy days in Southwold, and we always pay Covehithe a visit.

  • Stayed as part of a big Birthday celebration and had great weather throughout. Highly recommend The Angel pub 400m away and the local shop stocks most supplies you will need (great local bread!). Everything worked well in the house and benefits from recently being completely refurbished to a great standard. It does get hot in the garden when the sun is out which is great (if you like the heat).

  • We have enjoyed our stay here at Sparrows with our son and wife and granddaughter. It is a lovely house, roomy. Very clean when we arrived! Local shop very handy, lots pf places to walk around with the dog. The newly opened Angel is a lovely place to have a meal. The Plough was good too but the Angel is such a short walk. We would all love to come again. Farm shop in a great place to buy fresh veg and a good supply of dog food. Five stars!
