Briar Cottage is a delightfully cosy holiday cottage in the peaceful village of Westleton. It’s location, close to RSPB Minsmere and National Trust Dunwich Heath makes it an ideal choice for lovers of wildlife and the great outdoors. This dog-friendly holiday home enjoys glorious walks right from the doorstep – Westleton Common, which adjoins Dunwich Forest is just across the lane.

The cottage itself is comfortably furnished and boasts a homely sitting room, country kitchen, downstairs bathroom with shower, and two bedrooms. Outside there’s a pretty, lawned garden, which is fully enclosed, making it ideal for dogs. There’s an outdoor dining table and chairs to make the most of the Suffolk sunshine. Don’t be fooled by its petite proportions, Briar Cottage is well-equipped with all the appliances and gadgets you could need during a country getaway, including washing machine, heated clothes airer, and dishwasher.


Access via the back door to;

Sitting Room: Sofa and two lounge chairs, smart TV, central table that can be used as a dining table (fold away chairs are stored in the cupboard).

Kitchen: With electric hob and electric single oven, dishwasher, fridge with ice-box, microwave, kettle and toaster. There is a top-loading washing machine in the utility cupboard off the lounge, and a heated clothes airer in the cupboard under the stairs.

Bathroom: With small bath, basin and shower cubicle with electric shower.

Steep stairs lead to:

Bedroom One: Double bed, bedside tables, dresser, TV. Built-in wardrobe.

Bedroom Two: Single bed, bedside table, chest of drawers

WC: with hand basin.

The stairs at Briar Cottage are quite steep. There are handrails on both sides, but care should be taken when going up and down the stairs.

About Westleton

Westleton is a charming Suffolk village located just a few minutes off the A12, the main road from Lowestoft to Ipswich, making it the ideal based from which to explore the Suffolk Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Its sits between the popular seaside towns of Southwold and Aldeburgh, both of which are approximately 9-miles away. Popular with bird-watchers and lovers of wildlife, Westleton’s close neighbours are RSPB Minsmere and National Trust Dunwich Heath.

The village store, post office and tearoom are at the heart of the village, just down the lane from the village green. The shop offers a good selection of groceries including locally produced items such as ham, eggs, honey, jam and more. There’s also a fascinating book shop, local garage and thriving village hall. The village is also blessed with two pubs. The Westleton Crown is in the centre of the village and is a fabulous pub/restaurant with rooms which serves award winning cuisine in stylish surroundings. It’s dog-friendly too! The White Horse Inn is a traditional Adnams pub which also serves food.

Popular with walkers, the village sits on the edge of Westleton Common, an 18-hectare area of stunning heathland, which adjoins Dunwich Forest.
